If you need help deciding which format to pick click here. The US, Canada and many countries in Central and South America use NTSC. Although PAL dvds will not work in NTSC machines, NTSC dvds will work in 95% of machines designed for PALs.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT FORMATS ARE AVAILABLE? Play Again is 80-minutes long and available in HD DVD, both NTSC and PAL. If you need the film in another format please contact us for availability. The film is in English, with subtitles available in Spanish Hebrew, Norwegian, Catalan, German and French coming soon. (NTSC is the standard DVD format in North America and NTSC discs will play on over 95% of DVD players/systems worldwide. PALS will typically not play in machines made for NTSC DVDs. Both are available on our website – just look for the dropdown menu when you are ordering.)
WHAT IS PLAY AGAIN RATED? This film is recommended primarily for children ages 10+ due to subject matter but parents know their kids best, so we leave it up to you. Many middle and highchools use the film in classrooms or for school screenings. Although many younger kids view the film, we suggest that elementary schools use the film for educators and parents instead of students, and that younger kids watch with parents.
WHAT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DVD? We recommend that you test your DVD prior to screening and make sure your equipment is compatible. So far we have only experienced one dysfunctional DVD but it is always a possibility so be prepared and contact us if you need a replacement.
DO YOU HAVE PR MATERIALS I CAN USE FOR MY SCREENING? Materials can be downloaded from our website for free. If you need movie posters or additional PR materials, please contact us for prices. Please feel free to post your event on our facebook page. We will post your event on our website – please contact us with the following information in this order: name of event, date, time, venue/location name, street address, city, state, zip, country, contact email or phone number and any additional details you wish to include. When the event is over, we always appreciate an email with photos, comments and/or attendance numbers!
CAN I CHARGE ADMISSION? Unlike a Theatrical License or a Home Use DVD, Educational and Community Licenses come with public performance rights, which is the right to show the film in public provided no admission fee is charged. Some groups ask for a donation at the door as a fundraiser for their organization or a local outdoor program, for example. In this case we appreciate a share of the proceeds to help us continue our work. (You can make a donation on our Buy Now page). Thank you!
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS? Sales from DVDs and screening licenses are the only way we support our ongoing outreach efforts and we appreciate every order! We do offer reduced rates whenever we can to grassroots activist groups, k-12 schools and others with small audiences and budgets. If the price listed is outside your budget range, please contact us to explain your circumstances.
WHY ARE SOME ORDERS PLACED WITH YOU AND SOME WITH BULLFROG? Film screening rights can look a little complicated. There are different levels of “rights” to the film, and some are sold to distributors who help get the film into certain markets. With Play Again, we retained all Home Use DVD rights as well as International Screening Rights (anywhere outside the US and Canada). Our educational distributor, Bullfrog Films, has North American Screening rights (US and Canada).
HOW DO I INVITE A FILMMAKER TO MY EVENT? If you would like a member of our team to attend your event, please email our producer at meg@groundproductions.com for details. If you are in Europe, please email our director at tonje@groundproductions.com.
